Geekcorps Receives In-Kind Donation from Cisco for Lebanese IT Learning Centers
21st February 2007 in News, AIM-IT by Geekcorps
IESC Geekcorps’ Lebanese ICT Academy program, called PICTA, is a cooperative effort between the Professional Computer Association of Lebanon (PCA), IESC Geekcorps, IJMA3, Mercy Corps, Audi Bank, Microsoft, Amcham, Intel, and now Cisco. Cisco recently awarded IESC Geekcorps with an in-kind donation of much needed equipment required to establish Internet connectivity for the PICTA Centers.
In November 2006, IESC’s Access to International Markets through Information Technology (AIM-IT) program sponsored seventeen Lebanese ICT companies in exhibiting and participating in the Gulf Information Technology Exhibition (GITEX). The 26th edition of GITEX, one of the largest ICT exhibitions in the world, was held at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre. There have already been a number of client success stories as a result of the quality of technical assistance provided by AIM-IT, a USAID funded program, during the GITEX’06 exhibition. Ethos Knowledge Management Solutions is one such example.
